University Park Airport
University Park Airport was looking for a way to reduce its energy usage as well as its overall carbon footprint. The initial stage of the project was conducted at Hanger I – which is a 4-bay, private hanger. The existing VHO T12 fixtures were not only outdated but were drawing a staggering 430 watts.
The Solution:
Energy Stewards was able to retrofit the existing 2 lamp T12 fixtures to energy efficient 4 lamp T8 fixtures that draw only 112 watts. This wattage savings not only lowered their energy usage, but also reduced their annual carbon footprint from 110.82 metric tons of CO2 to 28.86 metric tons of CO2. The ACT 129 rebates available to the Airport paid for 41% of the project. This project also comes with Energy Stewards standard, maintenance saving 5-year warranty on bulbs and ballasts.
